The Cape Cod Pro-Life Alliance advocates for all life from conception to natural death. Please join us for a presentation and discussion led by nationally recognized speaker Reverend Tadeusz Pacholczyk (Father Tad), covering Physician Assisted Suicide and End of Life Care. This event is sponsored by the Alliance, St. Joan of Arc in Orleans, Knights of Columbus councils across Cape Cod and the Respect Life Ministries at Corpus Christi and Christ the King.
Fr. Tad is an engaging and insightful speaker. He writes and speaks widely on bioethics and medical ethics. He currently serves as Senior Ethicist at The National Catholic Bioethics Center in Philadelphia. Since 2001 he has given several hundred presentations and invited lectures, and participated in debates and roundtables on contemporary bioethics throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Click HERE to learn more about Father Tad.
His presentation will cover basic moral principles that help guide all Christians in medical decision making, and assist us in helping our loved ones to live out their final days with the true dignity each human person deserves. Particular issues such as physician-assisted suicide, medical orders for life sustaining treatment (MOLST) and the importance of having a Christian Health Care Proxy will also be included.
Supporters of physician-assisted suicide, or so called mercy-killings of the elderly and the infirm, continue their efforts to legalize this in Massachusetts. We urge all Christians and people of good will from all faiths to join us at this event and to reject this unconscionable affront to natural law and to Christ’s teachings on the sanctity of life from conception to natural death.
Admission: Free
When: Wednesday October 22, Doors Open at 5:45pm
Where: Corpus Christi Parish Center, 324 Quaker Meeting House Road, East Sandwich.
Pizza and refreshments will be served
If all a person did was read the Cape Cod Times or have knowledge of so-called gag-order bills being proposed by our state legislature, they might think that Pregnancy Resource Centers (PRCs) are a bad idea. But this couldn’t be further from the truth.
A pregnancy resource center (PRC) is a privately funded center to assist pregnant woman. There are over 3,000 such centers in the United States. Services provided by many PRCs include life-affirming counseling by skilled patient advocates, pregnancy tests, and ultrasound imaging performed by certified sonographers and read by licensed physicians. The purpose of everything a PRC does is to empower a pregnant woman with all of the information needed to make an informed decision on her pregnancy.
Unlike Planned Parenthood and other clinics who provide abortions, PRC’s do not dispense chemical abortion pills nor perform surgical abortions. PRCs begin with the assumption that a woman facing an unexpected pregnancy needs love, support, and knowledge to make informed decisions. Should a woman decide to have an abortion after watching a sonogram of their baby and talking through all available avenues of support, it’s her right to do so. PRCs don’t judge. In the words of a mother who visited a Planned Parenthood clinic, the difference is stark. A PRC starts by asking how they can help. When I was pregnant and went to Planned Parenthood, they began by asking me if I wanted an abortion.
A number of our State Senators want to silence PRCs based upon unfounded accusations and outright falsehoods. They want to go even further and make it unlawful for a healthcare professional to refuse to participate in abortion procedures due to religious beliefs. Why are pro-abortion forces so worried that a woman might learn important information about her pregnancy, the support that is available for her and her baby, and the fact that there are healthcare professionals opposed to abortion?
PRCs are a big deal because they play an important role supporting women and their children in a way that pro-abortion organizations do not! For more information on how you can support expanding access to PRCs on Cape Cod please go to https://capecodprolife.org/
