Who is The Cape Cod Pro Life Alliance?
We are a non-profit, pro-life Christian organization (Catholics, Protestants and Evangelicals) on Cape Cod and the mainland side of the canal. We have over 250 members and growing who attend 28 different churches and Christian organizations. Contact us via email at ccprolifealliance@gmail.com or phone (774) 237-0211.
The Alliance is a Non-partisan Organization
We are non-partisan and do not promote any political party or politician and care for all people regardless of race, sex, religion or national origin. Every pre-born baby has a right to life both by the grace of God and by the founding documents of the United States of America. Every child deserves a safe and healthy environment in which to grow. These facts hold true for people of all religious and political affiliations.
Why did the Cape Cod Pro-Life Alliance form?
Christians on Cape Cod have a long history of offering their time and financial support to non-profits assisting children and families in need. There is a need on Cape Cod and surrounding areas for services providing life-affirming support for women with unexpected pregnancies, both before and after the birth of their child. The Alliance provides a forum to bring all Christians together in a focused effort to make such services available and support life from conception through natural death.
What role does the Alliance play with regard to existing pro-life ministries in Cape churches?
A main goal of the Alliance is to promote the development of vigorous pro-life ministries in all Cape and surrounding area churches. Pro-life ministries in our churches provide powerful support networks for pregnant and parenting moms and their families that complement services offered by other non-profits. The Alliance is an enabler, but the real work is done by our churches taking action in the communities they serve.
Who is Your Options Medical?
Your Options Medical is the pro-life organization the Alliance is supporting to open a new Women’s Pregnancy Resource Center (PRC) in Hyannis. They already operate three life affirming PRCs in Massachusetts and a mobile medical clinic. They have successfully provided pregnancy services for over 30 years and during 2023 their work led to the birth of 185 babies by moms who had been considering abortion. See partnersofyom.org for more details.
What is the Mobile Medical Clinic?
The mobile medical clinic is operated by Your Options Medical. It is licensed by the State of Massachusetts to offer pregnancy counseling and healthcare services, including lab quality pregnancy testing and ultrasounds. All services are free. Appointments or walk-ins are welcome. All women are served regardless of religious affiliation, race or nationality. The mobile clinic will operate on Cape Cod and on the mainland side of the canal. It will travel to where it is needed.
Who Is Birthright?
Birthright in Falmouth is another women’s pregnancy resource center supported by the Cape Cod Pro-Life Alliance. Birthright’s services are available to women for as long as they are needed. They offer love, friendship, and support to women who are pregnant or think they may be pregnant. Birthright’s is interdenominational and is not involved in any political activities, or lobbying. Birthright’s focus is on loving the mother, reminding her that there is hope and ensuring she is not alone. See https://birthright.org/falmouth for more details.
Rebuttal to False Claims in the Press About Pro-Life Women’s Pregnancy Centers
Statements in the press or quotes from pro-abortion advocates attacking the qualifications and track record of Women’s Pregnancy Resource Centers are patently false. When fully operational, the new PRC in Hyannis will offer life-affirming counseling by skilled patient advocates, pregnancy tests administered by licensed nurses, and ultrasound imaging performed by certified sonographers and read by licensed physicians. We also have access to a mobile medical clinic that can offer these same services wherever they are needed on Cape Cod and the mainland side of the canal. Unlike state funded abortion agencies, PRCs take a comprehensive and holistic approach to empower women to make an informed decision on their pregnancy.

What makes Your Options Medical and Birthright different from services offered by government funded non-profits and other healthcare institutions?
Far too often, abortion is promoted as a way for a woman to free herself from the ‘burden’ of pregnancy. This plays into legitimate concerns that any woman facing an unplanned pregnancy may have. How am I going to support this baby? How will her family or the father react to the pregnancy? How will she obtain and pay for needed healthcare during pregnancy and after birth? Just as often, the effects of an abortion on the physical, mental, and spiritual health of a woman are minimized or not discussed at all. Your Options Medical and Birthright take an honest and holistic approach to provide women with all of the information needed for them to make an informed decision on their pregnancy.
What does a woman experience during an appointment at Your Options Medical?
The first step for patients coming to Your Options Medical is to confirm their pregnancy with a pregnancy test. If the test is positive the next step (when the center is fully operational) will be an ultrasound to provide further confirmation of the pregnancy. A compassionate patient advocate will meet with the patient and together they talk through the different options available to her. This enables the patient to understand how each choice may affect her emotionally, relationally, spiritually, and physically, enabling her to make an informed and educated decision. Your Options Medical does not provide additional services such as abortion or pre-natal care so there is no need to make any decisions at the time of the appointment. Women facing an unplanned pregnancy are able to take their time, gather the facts, and then decide.
What are the governing principles of The Cape Cod Pro Life Alliance?
- We care equally for the well-being of each pre-born child and the health of their mothers. Our commitment to their wellbeing extends beyond birth, to make sure moms in need receive the services they require to raise their children.
- We don’t judge. We pray for the pre-born child, and his/her mother and father.
- We extend love and support to every woman facing an unplanned pregnancy and to any mom struggling to make ends meet for their families.
- We understand that an unexpected pregnancy can create challenges for the mother and father. We want the parents to know they are not in this alone and for them to see how challenges can be overcome so that they will place the well-being of their baby ahead of their own fears.
- We pray that men and women who are pro-abortion will have a change of heart and recognize their pre-born baby for who he or she is, a living being that has every bit the same right to life as their parents honored for them.
- We respect other pro-life organizations that place a priority on changing law, but the priority of the Alliance is changing hearts and minds to respect life for pre-born children.
What do you say to a pro-abortion critic of the Alliance claiming we are trying to force our Christian faith on women?
Christians of all faiths share a common belief in the God-given right to life. Independent of this fact, modern science has established that life begins at conception with a baby’s heartbeat being detected just 6 weeks into a pregnancy. This creates common ground for Christian and secular worlds. We do not force our Christian beliefs on others, the science stands on its own in support of being pro-life. The Alliance welcomes partnering with secular pro-life organizations with the only exception being when an activity would be in conflict with our Christian beliefs. Being pro-life is universal and not limited to those having religious beliefs, it is an acknowledgment that science affirms that life begins at conception.
